John Watkinson

Co-founder of Larva Labs and co-creator of CryptoPunks, the first NFT project on Ethereum and inspiration for the ERC-721 standard. Holds a Master's in Computer Science from University of Toronto and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University. Together with Matt Hall, created CryptoPunks (2017), Autoglyphs (2019), and Meebits (2021). Previously known for creating Androidify, which became the face of the Android brand. In 2022, sold CryptoPunks IP to Yuga Labs, which later transferred it to the NODE Foundation in 2025.
